This is one of Finland's most productive springs - it discharges about 10 000 cubic meters of water per day. Kuninkaanlähde (translated "King's spring") was named after the king of Sweden when he visited this place in 1752. Tradition tells that people used to give sacrifices to this sacred spring and it's water was used to cure eye diseases. It was a cold afternoon when this photo was taken but the water keeps running even on the coldest days. The spring and the stream are beautiful but also in the summer the nature around it looks like it hasn't been touched in years.
